Keep reading.     What are metering pumps? Metering pump is a kind of can meet a variety of strict process needs, flow can be in the range of 0-100% stepless adjustment, used to transport liquid (especially corrosive liquids) a special positive displacement pump.   Metering pump belongs to the reciprocating displacement pump, used for precise measurement, usually requires the stability of the metering pump accuracy of not more than ± 1%, can be completed at the same time the function of conveying, metering and regulation, thus simplifying the production process.   The use of multiple metering pumps, several media can be input into the process according to the exact ratio of mixing. Because of its own prominence, metering pumps are now widely used in various industrial fields such as petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food and so on.   Types of metering pumps:  According to the different hydraulic end, the pump can be divided into: plunger type, mechanical diaphragm type, hydraulic diaphragm type, electromagnetic diaphragm type metering pump.   Ⅰ. Plunger type metering pumps The hydraulic end of the pump consists of a working chamber with the help of a plunger, and the volume of the working chamber is periodically changed by the reciprocating linear motion of the plunger.     Ⅱ.Mechanical diaphragm type metering pump The hydraulic end of the pump is formed into a working chamber with the help of a diaphragm, and a pump that replaces the reciprocating motion of a piston (plunger) with the cyclic elastic deformation of a diaphragm is a diaphragm pump. The reciprocating movement of the machine directly drives the diaphragm before and after the cyclic deformation around the curve of the pump.     Ⅲ.Hydraulic diaphragm type metering pump Diaphragm cyclic deformation is a hydraulically driven pump with the aid of a piston reciprocating in the hydraulic working chamber.     Ⅳ.Electromagnetic diaphragm type metering pump   Diaphragm cyclic deformation is a pump that is driven with the aid of an electromagnet and conveys small flows of low-pressure liquids.     Applications & Selection:   Metering pumps are most widely used in the water treatment industry, such as:   (Ⅰ) industrial water treatment: cooling towers and boiler circulating water treatment to add scale inhibitors, anticorrosion agents, etc.;   (Ⅱ) Industrial wastewater treatment: flocculation, oxidant, defoaming, PH adjustment;   (Ⅲ) Power plant water treatment: boiler furnace water treatment, furnace water treatment.       The following steps need to be followed for selection:   Ⅰ.Determine the pressure The rated pressure of the selected metering pump should be slightly higher than the actual maximum pressure required, generally 10 to 20% higher. Do not choose too high, too high a pressure will waste energy, increase equipment investment and operating costs.   Ⅱ.Determine the flow rate Selected metering pump flow should be equal to or slightly greater than the required flow rate. The use of metering pump flow range in the metering pump rated flow range of 30 to 100 per cent better, when the metering pump repeat reproduction accuracy is high. Considering the economic and practical, it is recommended that the actual flow rate of the metering pump for the metering pump rated flow rate of 70 to 90%.   Ⅲ.Determine the pump head (hydraulic end) material Metering pump specifications to determine the specific type, and then according to the properties of the overflow medium to choose the material of the overflow part, this step is very important, if the choice is not appropriate, will cause media corrosion damage to the overflow parts or media leakage contamination of the system and so on. Serious cases may also cause major accidents.   Other aspects In the selection of metering pumps, you also need to consider the accuracy level of the required metering pump, the higher the accuracy level of the greater the input. Metering pump general operating temperature in -30 ~ 100 ℃, special metering pumps with a wider range of operating temperatures (such as high-temperature liquid metering pump with thermal insulation jacket, its conveying temperature up to 500 ℃).   For the size of dosed medium,it should be less than 0.1mm; for media larger than 0.1mm, need to change the pump’s liquid end structure. As for the viscosity of the medium, it is generally between 0 and 1000 mm/s, but special metering pumps reaching up to 6000 mm2/s. The flow rate of a mechanical diaphragm metering pump is the maximum flow rate measured under calibrated rated pressure (when dosing clear water at room temperature). If the pressure drops, the output flowrate will be higher than the calibrated value.   Common breakdown   Metering pump suction is not normal Rotate to the 100% stroke length position. This will rotate the complete assembly until the backplate leakage discharge hole is aligned with the bottom most end of the pump. Adjust the fluid end and diaphragm to the proper position during pump operation.   The pulse duration may not be long enough for the response time. As opposed to the standard pulse width of 80msec, the flow monitor pulse width extension can be activated to increase the pulse width to 300msec. activate the smart changeover switch, remove the cover that holds the circuit board, and remove jumper X-1. this activates the extension function, allowing more time before a fault is indicated.   The metering pump is fitted with a self-venting pump head with self-filling suction. Keep the suction line as short as possible.   Disassembly and replacement of metering pump diaphragms   Removing the old diaphragm is often troublesome and offers some additional suggestions.   Ⅰ. After the pump head has been loosened and before removing the pump head, adjust the stroke length to the 10% position. This will ensure that there is enough pressure on the solenoid shaft to keep it firmly attached so that the diaphragm can be screwed down.   Ⅱ. Pull the fluid end outward to disengage the screw from the socket. Grasp the fluid end and turn it counterclockwise. Slight resistance will allow you to unscrew the diaphragm.   Ⅲ. Metered chemicals may crystallise at the hydraulic end, causing the check valve ball and seat not to function properly.   Ⅳ. There may be gas leakage at the suction side of the metering pump. There may be a lack of O-rings on the suction side of the hydraulic end of the connection or loose connection of the suction valve.   lGeneration of flow failures during priming of highly viscous media Move the hydro end by loosening the 4 pump head screws. Rotate the stroke length to 10% and grab the hydro end and slide it out through the screw holes , then the screws are not in contact with them but still holding the backplate and diaphragm. Then rotate this part counterclockwise with a little resistance and the diaphragm will come loose from the solenoid shaft. If the diaphragm has not loosened, apply some lubricant to the contact surfaces of the diaphragm and the solenoid shaft. After a few minutes, gently tap the diaphragm with a small plastic hammer. Then do it again as described above.   Preventing burnout of metering pump stroke positioning motors Ⅰ. Remove the 4 screws that secure the pump head. The screws are located on the back of the metering pump.   Ⅱ. See if the drain tube is installed and the drain valve is closed? The drain valve needs to be open during the priming phase of the metering pump. Note: Not all metering pumps have a drain valve.   Ⅲ. After the diaphragm has been installed and the back plate drain holes have been placed in a vertical position, install the pump head. Make sure the suction valve is aligned with the drain hole and the screws on the hydraulic side are aligned with the corresponding 4 holes.   Hydraulic metering pumps with low or inaccurate flow rates Ⅰ. Unscrew the bleeder valve in the three valves. Ⅱ. Fully replenish the oil through the replenishment valve.

The piston ring has self-sealing and wear repair functions, changing the traditional piston seal which uses packing sealing, and the piston ring becomes a regular part that does not need replacement within 3 years. - The foaming agent injection pump belongs to a small flow and high-pressure diaphragm pump. Due to the small change in piston volume and the small deformation of the diaphragm under high pressure, along with the presence of leakage in various sealing parts under high pressure, it is easy to have a decrease in pump volume coefficient and an unstable flow rate. Therefore, this series of hydraulic diaphragm dosing pumps use springs to force the diaphragm to reset, effectively keeping the deformation of the diaphragm constant, facilitating the improvement of pump volume efficiency, and ensuring the stability of pump flow rate. - The valves are processed with high-precision machine tools, and strict sealing detection methods improve the reliability of the pump valve seal. Sealing gaskets between the valves are eliminated in the structural design, and a conical hard seal is used. This not only effectively avoids the seal damage caused by high pressure or valve disassembly, but also facilitates the control of consistent opening and closing stroke for each valve ball, ensuring flow accuracy and stability. In addition, in the valve seat structure design, the valve hole can be used on both sides. Even if one side of the valve hole loses its sealing effectiveness due to wear, the valve seat can continue to be used by flipping it, thus doubling the sealing service life of the check valve.
